Novak Djokovic has credited the card game Uno as the secret weapon behind his preparation for the ATP cup.
Ealier today Djokovic defeated Chilean star Christian Garin in straight sets, 6-3 6-3.
Already guaranteed a spot in the last eight, today’s victory in Brisbane means Serbia will head to the knockout stages unbeaten.
But it’s the world No.2’s post-match interview that left fans at Pat Arena in stitches when the Serbian star credited the card game Uno for keeping spirits high in Team Serbia.
When asked how he strategises before matches, Djokovic humorously declared he relies on “plus fours” in the game of Uno to keep his competitive edge when he’s not on the tennis court.
“Just plus fours,” Djokovic said
“Just plus four all day long.
“Before every game I pray to God to give me as many plus fours as possible.
“Our captain didn’t have a great night last night in Uno, he suffered a great loss, but he’s smiling today so it’s all good.”
Earlier in the day, Dusan Lajovic gave Serbia a 1-0 lead when he defeated Nicolas Jarry 6-2 7-6 (7-3).
