Kidman, 52, told Extra at the Critics Choice Awards that her property was unaffected, but nearby areas has been “very badly burned.”
“Our home is OK,” Nicole told the outlet on the red carpet. “It’s been under threat, though, it’s been under enormous threat, and the surrounding areas have been very, very badly burned.”
The Bombshell actress urged anyone to assist in any way that they can.
“Whatever they can give is incredibly appreciated,” Kidman said. “That’s us doing our bit… Anything that’s given, I know the country, the firefighters, the volunteer firefighters, the animals — in terms of the wildlife — the people working, will really help.”
On January 5, Kidman and Urban announced they would be donating half a million dollars to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Kidman took to Instagram on January 5 to announce the generous pledge.
“Our family’s support, thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires all over Australia. We are donating $500,000 to the Rural Fire Services who are all doing and giving so much right now,” she wrote.
Kidman was nominated at the Critics Choice Awards for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Celeste Little on Big Little Lies. She was also nominated for Best Acting Ensemble for playing Gretchen Carlson in Bombshell.
Sadly, Kidman missed out on an Oscar nomination after the list was announced today.
