What a tournament it has been for Garbine Muguruza, the former world No.1 who had an awful, awful 2019.
It is hard to believe that this is the same player that was dumped out of both the French Open and Wimbledon in the first round last year.
Muguruza, now working with the incoming tennis Hall-of-Famer Conchita Martinez, looks a completely different player and she has a chance to win her third career Grand Slam title.
To do it, the Spaniard will have to overcome a major drought from unseeded players at the Australian Open.
Muguruza will aim to become just the third player in Australian Open women’s singles history to win the tournament despite being unseeded, joining Chris O’Neil in 1978 and Serena Williams in 2007.
Can she add her name to that iconic list?
