The Warwick Farm meeting on Saturday has been abandoned with parts of the track deemed “unsuitable for racing” but important races on the card have been rescheduled.
More than 80mm of rain has fallen at Warwick Farm in the past 48 hours with the Bureau Of Meteorology predicting more significant rain during Saturday.
Following a Saturday morning track gallop, riders reported the track was slippery and inconsistent in sections of the track.
The decision to scrap the card has resulted in Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club adding the $2 million Inglis Millennium (1100m) and the $1 million Inglis 3YO Sprint (1200m) to Wednesday’s Warwick Farm card.
“Any further program alterations or additions for the race meeting at Randwick on 15th February will be announced in due course,” a Racing NSW statement read.
