UPDATE: Corey Oates has become the first big name casualty of the Broncos form slump with the Origin winger axed from Brisbane’s squad.
Darius Boyd was late to join in training with the Broncos’ main group due at today’s session, due to a suspected injury concern, but looks set to survive being dropped.
The former skipper did not take part in the first 15 minutes of the session, with the club saying he was simply resting to freshen up.
He then took his place at left centre, training inside Jamayne Isaako.
With Brisbane out to end a fivepgame losing streak against the Warriors on Saturday, Isaako is likely to be recalled to the wing to replace Oates with former Rabbitoh Richie Kennar added to the bench.
Pat Carrigan and Tom Flegler also return to the Broncos squad after serving one match suspensions, which prevented them from playing in Brisbane’s embarrassing loss to the Titans at Suncorp Stadium.
However, Origin forward Joe Ofahengaue will miss the match and fellow forward Matt Lodge is in doubt after failing to train today due to a leg injury.
