A teenage girl has been arrested after her 10-year-old cousin was found dead at a rural property in north-west New South Wales this morning.
Emergency services were called to the remote Gunnedah property just before 8am today where they found the young victim with “serious lacerations” to her throat and body, police said.
Despite attempts to revive her, she died at the scene.
Police arrested a 14-year-old girl, understood to be the victim’s cousin, nearby and a crime scene has been established.
Investigations are continuing.
