The Asus ROG Phone 3 has been rumored for a while, but we’re now expecting to see the phone officially launch on 22 July. This lineage of phones is known for its gaming prowess, and we expect the Asus ROG Phone 3 to be no different. There had previously been reports that the Phone 3 would come with an updated version of the Snapdragon 865 chipset – and, excitingly, these rumors have now been confirmed thanks to a (now deleted) teaser video on the official Asus ROG Twitter account.
The recently unveiled Snapdragon 865+ is the first mobile chipset to surpass the 3GHz CPU clock speed ceiling, achieving a 10% increase increase compared to the 2.84GHz frequency of the original 865.

The Snapdragon 865+’s Adreno 650 CPU has also received a clock boost, which means that it has a 10% better chance of hitting the required game frame rates to make the best use of high screen refresh rates. Including the 865+ in the Asus ROG Phone 3 will presumably mean that we’ll see an even more impressive and powerful performance from this gaming phone.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 is expected to arrive with a 6.59″ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate display and FHD+ resolution. It’s also rumored to have a 5,800 mAh battery that features 30W fast charging. In terms of the cameras, it’s reported that we’ll see a 64MP main camera and a 13MP secondary camera.
With the Asus ROG Phone 3 due to be released on 22 July, it’s likely we’ll see more information leak in the run-up to the launch.
